The construction of the new 14,500 square foot single story Adlai E. Stevenson Elementary School Annex project was completed in just 9 months. The siding consists of a bright fiber-cement siding/rainscreen system. The exterior cold-formed metal framing walls were prefabricated and delivered to the site Installation time was cut in half from the standard stick-building method by using a crane to lift each section into place. This allowed us to accelerate the schedule for the exterior shell of the building. The annex consists of 8 new, state-of-the-art classrooms, a multi-purpose room, office spaces, warming kitchen and support spaces including all new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and low voltage systems. Exterior construction also consisted of paving, landscaping, drainage, detention and lighting
